Safari Soft Play in North Chingford (inside Costa Coffee at the back) is a really lovely little soft play for young children. It’s a smaller, calmer space, which makes it ideal for babies and toddlers (around 0–3 years) and great if you’re looking for somewhere quieter and more manageable than the bigger soft play centres. Even though it’s compact, there’s plenty to keep little ones entertained. There are lots of different wall activities to explore, along with books to read and other fun sensory bits that are great for keeping toddlers engaged and encouraging them to play and learn at their own pace. It’s a nice mix of soft play and interactive activities, so it works well for children who enjoy exploring rather than just running around. The play area is clean, tidy and well looked after, which is always a big plus, and the staff are consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. It also feels really convenient being inside Costa, as you can enjoy a coffee while your little one plays nearby. Overall, it’s a great local spot and I’d definitely recommend it to any parents nearby with a 0–3 year old who want a relaxed, safe and enjoyable place for a play session.

I went to Safari Soft play just after it’s reopening. The new owner has done a fantastic job with the space. It’s so open and inviting! My little boy is getting a little older for the soft play now but absolutely loved the new addition of the role play area and could have spent ages there. Something for all ages! We loved it and will be back again very soon.

Today we went to this place to look for a birthday party for my son. No one told us there was a birthday party inside when we entered. We rang the doorbell and the door opened. My youngest son immediately went towards the play area when he saw the toys, and the Asian woman working there suddenly stopped him and pushed him. I told her to leave my son alone, and she quickly came towards us, saying it was a birthday party, and then, without keeping her distance, she roughly pushed us from behind. We were shocked because we had never encountered such treatment before, and we left. This is absolutely unacceptable, and what business does someone who doesn't know what manners are or how to speak to people have in a place related to children?! We expect an apology from the owner of the establishment.

Absolutely love the renovated Safari Soft Play in Costa. It’s under new ownership and now feels like such a boutique soft play right on the Chingford high street. Can’t wait to come again!
