Party and Play Funhouse Bolton

We had a party for our 5 year old at Party and Play Funhouse at the end of May. The amount of space is amazing and all of the kids had a brilliant time, they didn't stop running. We were lucky with the weather and made the most of the outdoor water area and climbing frames. We'd been before and made sure our guests brought an extra pair of clothes, which was needed as the water features were a big hit! From beginning to end the staff were lovely and made sure everything ran smoothly, going above and beyond. We had a group with varying dietary requirements and they were very helpful in sorting this all out without a fuss. The venue is enclosed so it is very safe and it's incredibly clean and tidy. Although there was another party ongoing at the same time, there was plenty of space for everyone to have fun. We would definitely recommend this venue for a kids party, especially if you're lucky enough to have a little one born in warmer months! I can’t praise Party and Play Funhouse Bolton enough. The manager was amazing, and honestly every single staff member went above and beyond to make sure my boys were happy and safe. They opened the sensory room for my autistic son and gave us a full tour, which made such a difference to our visit. The team were attentive, kind, and incredibly supportive throughout. It’s rare to find a place that’s this thoughtful and inclusive. Five stars from us—we’ll definitely be back!

The staff at reception were very helpful and had good awareness of children with specific sensory issues. They directed me to the sensory room and offered ear defenders. Great to see such an inclusivebplay centre

Honestly a little disappointed but there was good and bad. The soft play area is great and quite large which helps with it not being too busy, the toddler area is also much larger than I’ve seen at other centres which is nice and the outdoor area looks great for older toddler and children. Everything looked really clean and you are given a table for your session. The facilities they offer are excellent however I was quite disappointed that most of the facilities were not actually operational during our visit. Firstly there is a role play area advertised on the website but I could not find this anywhere. Secondly the baby sensory room was locked and all the lights were off The go karts were unsupervised so you could not use them, I asked when they’ll be tuned on as my session was due to finish in 40 mins and I was told they would get someone to open them up. About 15-20 minutes later they announced they were now in use but by this time my toddler was bored, overwhelmed and exhausted so did not really enjoy this. He would have absolutely loved to use them at the start of the session so I’m really disappointed they were not available the whole time, this was one of the main reasons we booked. The water play area was another reason I booked as it’s super unique and I knew my toddler would not be able to use much of the outdoor equipment so I thought this would be perfect, however this again was not turned on. When I asked why I was told they do not turn it on when it’s raining (I’m not sure why rain would mean you cannot use this anyway) but it was not even raining during the majority our visit. There was a very small amount of rain about an hour into the session for a couple of minutes but there had been none before this so it wouldn’t make sense for that to be the reason the water play wasn’t turned on. The food was also quite expensive on top of the entrance fee and I was reluctant to order anything since you have to eat within the session time and my son takes about an hour to eat a meal but I could not give him any snacks as there were signs stating you’d be asked to leave if you consume food or drink that was not purchased from them. While I do understand this is a rule at many centres I think it’s a bit harsh for families with toddlers who demand snacks when they are not really selling anything that is a targeted product for babies and toddlers, nothing particularly healthy was being sold as a snack for them and we wouldn’t have had time to eat a whole meal. In summary I think the centre of anything was open would be absolutely fantastic, it’s much larger than most soft play areas and the outdoor area is a great addition. I was happy to pay a little extra to get use of all these facilities. However, given that go karts were unavailable (for the first 1 hour and 40 mins of the session), the water play wasn’t tuned off, the sensory room was locked and the role play area didn’t exist I really feel this was not worth the price to essential just use a soft play area. You have to pay for adults too so It cost me 5x the amount I’d have paid to go to the soft play areas I usually attend more local to me and I also travelled 40 minutes to attend this centre so I feel this really was a waste of time and money and truly disappointed I did email them to let them know about all of this and request a refund or partial refund given we did not get to use the facilities that were advertised across their website and social media but I have not had a reply.

Facilities are good, baby sensory is nothing special. The food is very overpriced for the quality and portion size. One thing to note was we ordered food 30 mins before the end of our time, they happily took our order. Food took minutes to come out, we was eating our food and with 10 minutes to go a woman comes over and says you’ve got 10 minutes left before you need to leave. I said that should be fine but then she comes back over saying you’ve got 5 minutes left. So we decided to just leave half the food. The staff were very rude! If you don’t want to people to eat that late into their booking maybe don’t take the order.
